Description:

The knowledge and skills learned in the six-day Basic Training Course are essential to the successful Child Protective Worker being able to complete timely, comprehensive child protective assessments.  The Basic Training Course is intended to be an overview of knowledge and skills identified as critical to the Child Protective Worker.  Participants will be tested on the course content to determine their successful completion of this training.  Feedback will be given to the participants, as well as to their supervisors within one week of course completion.  Upon successful completion of this course, a CPW can begin to obtain case assignments and should then move on to the intermediate level of training.  This Basic Training Course will be offered every other month.

The Basic Training Course, CP200, is open to SWIIs as well so there will be a career path for individuals as well as a pool for selecting future CPWs.
